Warrior

Entry Description

A narrative of a girl who's struggling to accept herself in her own body and her journey towards finding herself. She visits common places to her and discovers new ways of expressing herself through photography. She feels most comfortable in nature and away from tainted society so she is only shown away from others and outside, but also at home in her room. This girl finds her way after much self doubt and learns to accept herself the way she is just by literally throwing her worries (and self-consciousness) away into a pond. This story parallels with the song it's paired up with "Warrior," which in both the story and the song a girl ends up stronger emotionally than she was to start with.

Positives: I enjoyed watching the video the pacing and use of visuals kept me interested.

Improvements: Most of the shots worked well to depict the story. I would suggest the use of a tripod for some of the other visuals which took away from the flow.

Judge 2

Positives: Good story. Nice control of color. Cool and warm tones. Good job! Were you aware of that while shooting? Nice textures! Close ups! Yes!!!!!!! Good use of jump cuts. Overall, very nice camera work and edit. Good luck!

Improvements: Watch your exposures. Be mindful if using auto exposure and other auto functions. Maybe just a bit less handheld or steady it up a bit. Some of the handheld walking camera was a bit much for me. Handheld camera can work very well, especially in music videos. I just am always careful not to over do it. Unless a very "wild" camera movement is called for.

Judge 3

Positives: Good concept. Camera work shot selection / editing decisions were solid.

Improvements: General feel to the story was a bit predictable but the ending was original. Some of the cam work was a bit shaky / off framing - could've stood for a bit more control / work in production.
