Entry Description

This is my documentary.

Judge 1

Positives: The lighting inside the auto shop was done well. The mix between the interview and information from the narrator was done well.

Improvements: There were a little too many still life photos of random auto parts. It may have been good to see the mechanic working on a car.

Judge 2

Positives: This is one of the first innovative ideas I've seen. It takes a 'basic' job that we take for granted and discusses what mechanics do. To someone like me who knows little about cars, this was well done from the perspective of the mechanic and his history. Love the idea about "improvisation," THAT is innovation. Exactly.

Improvements: I think the soundtrack needs to be a little more creative. I understand that this is a style preference, however the sound that was utilized but not that diverse in its construction. I think interviewing the gentleman in his shop was a good idea, but it would be better to mix up his locations to create interest points. There were points when looking at his tools, but when he speaks it's the same scene.

Judge 3

Positives: Interesting and well supported. Smooth transitions.

Improvements: Nothing.
