Entry Description

This is my documentary on Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Wheaton North & Wheaton College.

Positives: The intro clips mixed with the music worked well. The viewer got a sense of the energy among the group. The lighting worked well. the room was well lit so the individuals interviewed were as well.

Improvements: The camera moved too quickly when the whole group was being scanned. It needed to go slower. The sound for many of the interviews could be improved with mics closer to the speakers.

Positives: What worked well was the storyline. The development began when the students were walking as individuals and ended as a large group. This speaks to the idea that in Christianity people are indeed individuals, but Christians come together to 'glorify' God. This is a powerful message for those looking in on the lives of Christian athletes. The Use of interviews, coupled with live action was good. People are notorious for losing interest after a couple seconds, but when an interview cuts away to actual examples, it is always a good idea.

Improvements: Check the sound. The song was appropriate in the beginning sequence but quickly lowered and I couldn't hear the people speaking. This was a huge disparity. When I think of something being innovative and relating to sports, I think:Tebow. Why? He isn't only Christian and a Football player, what's innovative about him is that he prays visibly before he goes on the field. Its blatent. It's everything from his pose, to his location, and the media storm that followed went on for months. What's innovative about him is not that he prays, it's HOW he prays. That's what catches interest. This is a lesson to be learned. I think the topic here is definitely interesting and creative, but not innovative.

Positives: Clear message Good supporting shots of the community

Improvements: Very poor audio. More transition enhancements might keep viewer interest.
