Entry Description

This video was a collaborative effort created in Blender. The story is about a futuristic robot and his dog. When the dog escapes the city, the robot follows and discovers a trumpet in the old city. After searching his files, the robot begins to play the trumpet. The robot was named after Bill Conti, who wrote the Rocky theme song.

Judge 1

Positives: Nicely designed landscape and creatures. The cuts and variation of framing came across as very cinematic.

Improvements: There seemed to be some unnecessary zooming, try being more intentional with the use of zoom/pan. Also, the narrative was a little unclear, I could use some reasoning to connect the dog and the trumpet.

Judge 2

Positives: The information is reflected in the video very well. The video was well made with good imagination used to create the environment.

Improvements: The video seemed to end abruptly. Overall it was a little dark. More contrast in how light is used would be good.

Judge 3

Positives: • Nice animated sequences .. variety of shots that convey the tension in the story ... • Well integrated sound • fun robotic characters

Improvements: The narrative does not quite stick together,,, The dog runs, and the robot follows, out of the city...into the starry field,, and then the dog disappears and the robot ends up in a city alley with a trumpet: these are nice glimpses of a story, but it does not stick together all the way...... I wish the dog had come back and appeared when the trumpet was played... to give a story a nice culmination
