  • 2/24 10:13 am - I really enjoyed how you made this song come to life through your visuals. I loved seeing the variety of shots, and the camera work is crisp and smooth. Shots are really edited well, and the lighting and pacing is fitting for the odd nature of this Eno song. Really clever idea with appropriate transitions that matched the tempo and ambient nature of this song. Excellent work at incorporating the nostalgic sepia-toned super 8 footage. Strong entry when all said and done!
  • 2/21 1:17 pm - This music video makes a captivating impression with its intriguing song choice, which sets the tone for a thought-provoking exploration of themes such as lost innocence and the passage of time. The use of old footage effectively conveys a sense of nostalgia and longing, juxtaposed with scenes of women in later stages of life, evoking a poignant contrast that resonates with viewers. The video's cinematography is particularly noteworthy, with skilled use of lighting and a variety of shot compositions, including wide, close, and medium shots. These techniques contribute to the visual richness of the storytelling, capturing the emotional depth of the narrative with striking clarity. The male singing performance adds an element of unnerving intrigue to the video, creating a compelling tension that keeps viewers engaged. The transitions between scenes are seamless and impactful, particularly the shift from sinking into a bathtub to waking up next to a lake, which effectively conveys a sense of disorientation and introspection. While the overall meaning of the video may be open to interpretation, its ability to entertain and captivate is undeniable. It keeps viewers engaged and intrigued throughout, never allowing boredom to set in. I commend the creators for their innovative approach and look forward to witnessing their continued creativity in future projects. Keep up the excellent work!

Positives: Impressive Intro: The introduction of the video sets a high standard right from the start. It's engaging, creatively put together, and does a fantastic job of drawing the viewer in. A strong intro is crucial for capturing attention, and this video nails it, laying a solid foundation for what's to come. Creative Transitions at 1:07: The transitions between scenes around the 1:07 mark were exceptionally well-executed and creative. This technique not only catches the viewer's attention but also smoothly guides them from one part of the video to another, showcasing a thoughtful approach to video editing that adds a layer of sophistication.

Improvements: Performance Scenes: While the performance parts of the video are technically well-lit, they fall a bit short when it comes to conveying a clear message. It's important for every scene, especially performance scenes, to communicate something to the viewer, whether it's an emotion, a piece of the story, or a theme. Clarifying the purpose and message of these scenes could greatly improve their impact.

Positives: What a super-well-done video. I especially loved the Jesus performance possibly inspired by the "water into wine" line. I also loved the super 8 footage, it was so good it actually had me wondering if you shot and transferred super 8, which, if you did, would have been flexing (as you kids say?).

Improvements: I wish the story would have been a little clearer. It was so interesting and held my attention throughout. But Jesus and the girl felt like they belonged to two different videos.

Positives: I am impressed that someone chose Brian Eno. Good for you! The lead singer is fun to watch. There is some effective camera work. The flashbacks are effective.

Improvements: In terms of color grading the video needs to be more consistent. It needs to feel like a cohesive piece. That last shot should be of her who face. You deprive the audience of some of the emotional content.
