- 4/23 8:48 pm - The documentary exhibits a really solid sense of fundamentals from the interview shots to the b-roll to the editing. It doesn't move much beyond a profile, but it does avoid making the piece function as a publicity piece or a promotion or commercial for the Elegant Farmer. At the same time, it doesn't have a true storyline that displays a beginning, middle and end. I think the interview shots could be a little bit stronger if you had a greater use of shallow depth of field. Cool piece about Bobby Flay could be edited a little bit more smoothly. Overall good job with the documentary.
- 3/26 1:16 pm - Keepers: I really like the nat sounds you used from the broll. Well done with that in spots. I like your interview set ups on the whole. You don't always have the ability to choose your backgrounds but I feel like you did your best. Broll shots on the whole are well done and you have some nice shots of the various goods produced by the store. Improvements: From a story stand point, I think you needed some voices from customers. That was missing from this piece. Sequence your broll a bit better. I didn't really get a true send of the store. You needed more wide shots of the specific spaces - particularly in the opening minute or so of the doc. Be consistent with your natural sound. It comes and goes and goes in places. The Bobby Flay piece felt a bit forced and shoehorned in. I would have cut its time in half and bled YOUR interview sound bytes over that broll and sound.
