  • 4/18 10:47 am - Story - Creative introduction and the order of questioning helped tell a very informative story. Production Value- Audio levels were good however levels varied between the three subjects. Camera shots were well composed. Lighting was okay but seemed too intense on the host. Talent - Very professional. Allowing the interviewee to talk without interrupting was well done. The follow up comments which, I assume were unscripted, were well articulated and showed how engaged the host was with the interview subject.
  • 4/11 7:25 am - Very interesting conversation with the mayor that had a great flow and clearly was prepped quite well. I wish I heard more from the second host, it felt like he was just there and the Andrew led the entire conversation. Also the camera quality on the shot of the mayor was weaker than the others. I feel like since he is the guest and the focus of the show it really stuck out especially since the other shots were technically cleaner than that one.
  • 3/5 11:24 am - Great intro graphic with clever audio as well! I noticed the video kept panning back to the host as the Mayor was talking... could have had a better variety in camera shots. It also looked like the outro was a little abrupt- it looked like the host even jumped at the end. I did think this segment was very thorough and you can tell a lot of detailed preparation went into it.
Judge 1

Positives: -Good use of camera angles, especially creative given its a small room -Engaging interview subject

Improvements: -lighting was harsh, white balance the camera a little better in the future -interviewer could be more polished

Positives: This format of filming a podcast is super popular and you execute it well. This gives the viewer the option to watch the interview if they'd like, or play the show in the background while working on other tasks. Interviewer was prepared and genuinely interested in the conversation. Your audio is clear and the multiple camera shots are great. When the music issue occurred toward the end of the segment, you rolled with it and didn't let it phase you. Good job!

Improvements: I'm not sure if the second co-host wasn't involved in this interview because it was his father, but we want to hear from both hosts. Even if you are interviewing someone you know personally, that familiarity can be worked into the show as a positive. For those viewers who opt to watch the segment rather than listen, consider adding some b-roll showing what the subject is talking about.

Positives: 1. This was the perfect mix of business-casual conversation that a radio interview should be. Great diction and questions to get the guest talking. 2. Great questions were asked, but you also gave the guest plenty of time to speak without interrupting, and with such an interesting interviewee, you got a lot of great info and insight from him,

Improvements: 1. The second host didn't take much part in the conversation. Even if he knew the answers (it was his dad, after all) he could have also offered some insights about his dad from his point of view. 2. The guest was too quiet, while the hosts mic was peaking at times.
