Entry Description

This is an original music video for the song "Hollywood", featuring the artist himself recalling the incidents that lead up to him making the decision to move. His feelings are torn, between staying in Chicago with friends, family, and girlfriend, and moving to Hollywood, where he wants to pursue his dreams.

Judge 1

Positives: Kudos on an original song. Story easy to follow.

Improvements: Try a variety of shots. Listen to sound track before choosing shots.

Judge 2

Positives: Message......go to Hollywood. Camera work was good.

Improvements: Sound could have been improved and several scenes needed more light.

Judge 3

Positives: Original music deserves massive props. I cannot emphasize that enough. I liked the variety shots used, as well as the play with the lighting (especially the night time shots).

Improvements: The video felt repetitive. It was playing-walking-playing-playing-walking-playing-walking. I liked the interlude in the middle, but it went right back to the style of the beginning! You can build a better visual story arc than A-B-A! I feel like you could have played with angles a bit more. The guitar-neck shot at the end was cool, but I need more! Almost every shot is from the same distance!
