Entry Description

WE ARE BARRINGTON HIGH SCHOOL, HEAR US ROAR! The transition from adolescence to adulthood can be arduous. Unfortunately, many become trapped and feel powerless in emotionally and physically abusive relationships. However, music can inspire an individual and an individual can inspire a movement through changing their attitude, outlook and actions. Female empowerment and reclaiming your life as your own is what Katy Perry's "Roar" means to us. Our video showcases how one student becomes self aware and achieves her independence by breaking free from an abusive relationship. Sometimes all it takes takes is the right song to help the person take the first step.

Judge 1

Positives: Great shots! Car scene in beginning was shot well. Great use of large groups. Pacing was great in the editing.

Improvements: Some of the video was inconsistent with the majority of the video.

Judge 2

Positives: Great character development. Nice video. Good job with the edit. Well paced. Camera work was very solid overall. Nice variety in compositions and camera movement. Rack/soft focus.

Improvements: Be mindful of camera composition. I would have liked a bit more lighting on some of your shots. Even just a bit more fill light on faces would do wonders.

Positives: Camera work is strong. Choreography is good.

Improvements: Could've benefited from more location lighting for dramatic effect. More locations than just the school would be good.
