Judge 1

Positives: good interviews good job with voice overs cool story

Improvements: Use a tripod for more professional look need more variety of b-roll

Judge 2

Positives: A very concise and articulate VO, that considered the first-time viewer (explained "Special Olympics Global Ambassador" for those who might not know.) A diverse array of quotes about Ms. Donne. It's always important to get many different perspectives when building a news story.

Improvements: The camera work was shaky at times, which became distracting to the viewer. There should always be a specific purpose for hand-held shots, rooted in the story being told. There were a few elements in the edit that could have been improved. The reporter's sign-off seemed to fade out too quickly, and might've been better slightly sooner so as to provide a beat of breather before ending the piece. The beginning of "Stand by Me" is very difficult to distinguish, and comes across as slightly distracting. Consider different portions, or a different song. You might also consider incorporating footage of public record of Del Donne playing basketball.

Judge 3

Positives: Edited well. Good pace and well chosen shots to illustrate the story being reported. Good range of interview subjects to give the story depth and emotion.

Improvements: Interview subjects were centered in the frame. Review the "rule of thirds" and other composition techniques to help capture more visually interesting shots. Having just a small amount of light on the subject can help separate them from the background and make for a better image.
