Entry Description

This is one act from our school's variety show. This was a 5 camera production completely filmed, directed and produced by students at our school.

Judge 1

Positives: The camera work during the salsa number worked well. It's fast paced and you do want to keep up with it (and you did!). The variety of camera shots and dissolves during the second number worked well for that type of musical number. Nice work.

Improvements: While the dissolves worked well in the transitions in the second number, I felt they took away during the dance scene. Be careful when shooting in uneven light. I felt like a couple of the close ups of the singers were too hot, washing out his face. Nice effort.

Judge 2

Positives: switched nicely. good camera angles Directing was excellent

Improvements: nothing

Judge 3

Positives: HAD TO WATCH ON YOUTUBE - Wide shots with various lighting elements catching the twirl of the dancers and pulling back to show full body shots

Improvements: mix for a pre-recording was lacking in sound quality there's one shot where the head of the female dancer is in the bottom of the frame on a dissolve - a bit disconcerting
