"3C Journey to Nationals" follows the 3rd Coast Elite 18's team as they travel to the McCormick Center in Chicago and the Edwards Jones Dome to play for a bid to go to nationals. The team bonds together as the season progresses, and they force their way from a 28th seed in St. Louis to playing in a game that decides whether or not they win a bid.
Positives: Good mix of audio (music, narrator & coach speech) to help tell the story. Nice use of B-roll footage during coach speech.
Improvements: I felt like there could've been more variety of shots. Maybe some close-ups of individual players or some reaction shots during coach speech. There were some jump cuts with game footage and coaches speech that could've been covered with B-roll.
Positives: I love the contrast of the music against the action shots/ coaches speech, almost creating a nostalgic tone. All around a very well shot and edited promo.
Improvements: A shorter edit without jump cuts would allow for a stronger impact with the viewer. I'd like to be given more information on the narrative of the stories and the characters.
Positives: I think this trailer was really well done in setting up the tone and message of this narrative. It was very clear what this journey was about. Also it had a nice variety of footage from speeches, to practicing, and the games. It hit on all the different notes and the music and dialogue were well done.
Improvements: At the beginning where you see scenes of that first game there is a noticeable "jump" in footage. There is another one at about 1:10 when the coach is speaking. Some editing changes there could help smooth things out.
