Feature news story creating an awareness about what math team is all about.

Judge 1

Positives: good b-roll well paced

Improvements: bad audio interference during intro a few bad edits (black frames) use a tripod when possible

Judge 2

Positives: Very interesting choice in subject, with thorough information on what takes place during the math competition. Good use of music in service of keeping your piece uptempo.

Improvements: The audio could be clearer, especially during the interviews. Perhaps interviewing the subjects during a less-busy time or finding a new location would contribute to this. There were a few shots whose lighting could've been improved. As a general rule of thumb, avoid shooting into a window. Your camera's sensor struggles with the high contrast. Projection screens are also tough, for the same reason.

Judge 3

Positives: Well edited piece. Effective shots and a complementary score conveyed the point with an appropriate tone. Shot variety and camera technique helped keep the piece visually interesting.

Improvements: Interview shot composition could be imporved with less static shots and more dynamic framing and/or camera technique. Interview audio had a lot of background noise. Consider this when deciding how to capture audio.
