Entry Description

Here is a montage of my favorite skateboarding clips from 2013.

Judge 1

Positives: I loved the last couple sequences were you followed skateboarders for a rather long continuous run. Good use of natural sound mixed in with the music.

Improvements: After awhile, the sequences got repetitive. I think your piece would have been stronger if you moved one of those continuous run sequences higher into the overall video. Also, the one out of focus shot should not have been used. I'm not sure if it was used for effect, but it had no purpose and came off as a mistake.

Judge 2

Positives: I like the shots following the skaters. Nice job editing the shots with the music and thank you for keeping the nat sound.

Improvements: Too many shots end looking down at the pavement. I don't mind seeing the camera person's shadow, but it should be so subtle I barely notice it.

Judge 3

Positives: Good shooting especially while moving. The editing was very clean.

Improvements: Watch your shooting angles you don't want your shadow to be such a big part of your shot. it only happened a couple times but just watch that in the future. Just watch your focus a couple shots could have been a little better as far as focus goes.
