Entry Description

Triangle shaped construction paper moving around a structure made out of cardboard. The construction paper makes various patterns throughout the composition.

Judge 1

Positives: Using something simple and abstract (just colors and shapes) helped bring out the beauty of the animation without complicating it with a plot. Makes me thing of the early animations by the creator of Gumby.

Improvements: Perhaps more complexity in the shapes might have made for more interesting viewing. Also, I would have liked to see the shapes move off the tower into the space more.

Judge 2

Positives: fantastic use of stop animation. Colors were very active and you really had good variety of patterns. Great sense of movement and the music was timed well.

Improvements: Part of the video were out of focus. The overall lighting was very dark with heavy background shadows.

Judge 3

Positives: Beautiful formal piece... • Great shot angles • Very effective rhythmical pace

Improvements: The piece seems cut off in the end.... It need more of an ending... Perhaps choose a different audio track, or make the audio track fit the video more with editing the back end of the audio.. it seems that anticipation is building but is not leading anywhere....
