In a story as old as time itself, one boy goes on a search for what makes people care, what makes people love. But his path isn't paved with good intentions. Only one person can stop him from exploiting our deepest desires for his own goals. Will he succeed? Discover what it means to be part of something worth fighting for, in Fountain of Youth. This was a trailer created for a five part series that the entire school viewed during our spirit week.
Positives: Had some really great dramatic shots of the students with dramatic lighting. Really good job of building up the intensity by increasing the pacing.
Improvements: I felt like this trailer didn't quite match the description. I saw a kid who appears to have bad intentions, who is jealous of the preppy kids. I didn't get any sense of him going on a journey to find what makes people care. Perhaps using a narrator or text or different sound bites would help to more clearly convey your message. Some sound bites were hollow, difficult to hear. I like the shot of the main actor when he appears to be looking at a computer screen, but that wasn't totally clear when I first watched this. Perhaps you could've added a quick shot right before that of showing him typing or working on a computer.
Positives: Great, evocative visuals that hinted at a much larger story. The edit had a nice rhythm to it
Improvements: Some of the dialogue was a little hard to make out. I think the title cards could have been minimized to the same or greater effect.
Positives: Great demonstration of creativity with camera shots. I thought the sound was excellent and very clear.
Improvements: Just from watching the trailer and not reading the above description until afterwards, the story was a little vague. I think a little more dialogue in the beginning of what he is up to might provide more insight on his goal or plan.
