Entry Description

Trailer for 15-minute short film The Summer of Us.

Judge 1

Positives: Main idea was communicated well and story easy to follow. Really well shot. Nice scenery and variety of shots. Footage had great color and great depth of field.

Improvements: Some of the audio excerpts were difficult to hear. Some of the type was too thin and difficult to read. A couple consecutive shots didn't quite make sense. When they hold hands and then the next shots looks like they are sitting in opposite positions. The other shot was him looking at her from the hill, then he runs down the hill in the opposite direction.

Judge 2

Positives: Incredibly well shot and lit. Overall fantastic. Great logo

Improvements: The music transitions feels a little forced at times, maybe minimize size of supers and tighten edit

Judge 3

Positives: The story was excellent and I really liked the characters. There was some very good writing. The compositions were well balanced and it was shot beautifully.

Improvements: Needed some work on sound editing. There was way too many music changes. I would stick to one song.
