A news story about the tardy policy and how it is affecting students
Positives: interesting opening. enjoyed Isaiah as an interviewee
Improvements: some awkward editing, especially with sound. awkward shot with guitar in closing montage.
Positives: Important issue to tackle that affects most every student and class at some point in their high school years. Good cross-section of viewpoints about the problem and the system.
Improvements: Some actual facts and details about the scope of the tardiness problem would be helpful. For example..."last semester, there were 1,847 tardy incidents for a student body of 1200 students or an average of 1.5 late arrivals per student. This has resulted in a total loss of 9,200 minutes or 153 total hours of class time. These figures represent an increase of 25% over tardiness measures from the previous year." Or something to measure the scope of the problem and it's impact. The story just kind of ends without a conclusion or reporter sign-off.
Positives: The montage interview editing when talent asks "Does it work?" That montage was very creative Getting the protective from both the students and teachers worked well Good storytelling
Improvements: Some of the interviews were shot too much on a profile angle Several times there were dips to full frame black in between shots that should have been removed
