Entry Description

Ballerina Bun is a hand drawn animated tale about an aspiring ballerina, who is in turn inspired by the poster of a ballerina in her practice studio. All work is original.

Judge 1

Positives: Great use of narrative and beautifully drawn animation. I love seeing drawn animations, they take so much work. Nice use of simple color and line.

Improvements: Could have been a bit longer and had more interaction between the rabbit and the ballerina.

Judge 2

Positives: Great visual story telling. Good interaction between the two subjects. Music went well with all the movements. Good choice of subject matter to have a light hearted piece.

Improvements: I have no comments for improvement. I thoroughly enjoyed the presentations as-is.

Judge 3

Positives: • Great rendering of an anthropomorphic bunny echoing the fun title of "ballerina bun" • Fun animation technique, through the great interplay of variety of shots

Improvements: Even though i have enjoyed the beautiful moments while watching this piece, ( specially the wink of drawn ballerina) I feel the story did not fully develop and is missing its culmination point- a wide shot with a ballerina on the stage is missing.. it would have completed this beautiful story ...
