Entry Description

The students created the video to be part of a play.

Judge 1

Positives: Great use of lighting with the black & white footage. A lot of creative and well-composed shots.

Improvements: Some of the shots were a little too close on the singer. Without knowledge of the original story, not entirely sure what it's about.

Judge 2

Positives: Outstanding. I loved keeping the focus solely on the reaction shots rather than the singer. Took great advantage of black and white to convey a much bigger environment.

Improvements: I think that the edit could be even tighter to match the rhythm of the edit, like flipping the shot at the top to have the fans reacting to his voice. Have title over a shot, either end of song or over brick wall before fans run across instead of breaking out of context with a sound sting.

Judge 3

Positives: There was a great variety of shots and some really good use of composition. I also like the audience reaction and expressions.

Improvements: The story was a little vague. And I think the sound for the singing could be bumped up a bit.
