A brief, documentary-style look into the life of lifelong hockey lover and star, Connor Bell.
Positives: The head cam video worked well. It gave the viewer a sense of being on the ice. The use of the song throughout the film was good. It introduced the mood and wove in and out between the interviews well.
Improvements: The sound from Connor, his mother and girlfriend was not very good. A microphone could have been placed near them or clipped to them. The story could have been a little more developed....perhaps including teammate or a coach. Connor repeated the same thing about hockey being the best sport ever. He should have looked at the camera to engage the viewer more.
Positives: Fisheye(?) lense is interesting. I like the use of this lense because it gives the illusion of moving with the hockey player. The focus is on the puck and is clearly effective in catching my attention. I enjoyed that there were clips of lacing up boots, and kids on the ice, and photographs of Connor as a kid, all while the lady was speaking. The focus on these elements of hockey is educating non-hockey players like myself while listening to a lady interviewee.
Improvements: Avicii doesn't work with this film. I think if you want something upbeat and sounds like something ready for a game thats 'moving' you might use "300 violin orchestra" or "Stronger" or even "Sirius" by the Chicago Bulls. A good mic is needed for interviews, especially interviews that are in wide open spaces. There's no walls for sound to bounce and a good mic will help.
Positives: Nice action shots on the rink. Useful as a promo video.
Improvements: A bit fragmented. Audio not always appropriate.
