Entry Description

Summary of the Chicago Wolves High School Media Day.

Judge 1

Positives: good interviews

Improvements: background noise distracting

Judge 2

Positives: An interesting piece about a professional sports team's interaction with high school journalists. The report contained interesting content and background information about the Wolve's win-loss record, their hockey league, their affiliation with St. Louis, and the insights of a coach who better relates to his players because of his own experience on the ice.

Improvements: Not sure of the equipment limitations but a lavalier microphone for interview guests would help the interviewer a little. I worry that the young sportscaster holding the microphone so far out and at such an angle will end up with an elbow injury. Perhaps using some still photos from the Wolves' publicity department or website of the players/coaches being interviewed would add more visual diversity than staying with the interview the whole time.

Judge 3

Positives: Good use of sound bites from the players. The reporters standups were delivered well and with good energy.

Improvements: Inconsistent audio levels throughout. Natural sound was too loud at times and non-existent at other times. The voiceover could have been more energetic.
