Entry Description

A nerd falls in love with a popular girl, she is embarrassed and ashamed of him. He over hears her talking with her friends and ends things. She does actually love him though and wants to win him back.

Judge 1

Positives: Great job acting like a nerd...great use of shot-reverse-shot in dialogs...really great editing and sound

Improvements: I have no negative comments...just really well done

Judge 2

Positives: It's always great to shoot at the "magic hour". Nice use of the sun for the young love scene. The music bed worked well for most scenes.

Improvements: The story reveal at the end was a little abrupt. It could have used one more scene to get us there. Some of the shot selection and edits were a little awkward. Make sure the angles feel natural.

Judge 3

Positives: The actors were great and the camera angles were well done. Examples of this were positioning the camera between the girls in the hallway and not being afraid of the backlight with the sun in the dancing scene.

Improvements: Be sure to export your work at a higher resolution to fill the available window. Also, your audio needs to hold the viewer, but when you have to strain to hear it, you lose interest. Never be afraid to tighten your editing a bit so the scenes flow quicker.
