  • 4/30 7:56 pm - The lighting on the character's face at :16, and the silhouette lighting at :27 was done masterfully. Great shot selection and framing. Some cool match cuts going on. The song was creepy and worked well with what was going on. It was hard to tell that there was a loss that he was dealing with, so maybe finding a way to see that or to get glimpses of that a little more, just a little, at the beginning. But this was pieced together nicely.

Positives: Really nice work here! The camera and lighting on the actor's face are executed beautifully and create a strong visual foundation. Your actor delivered a great performance — that's a testament to your directing. The lighting is cool and adds a compelling layer to the piece. Loved the music and build — it's a great classic trailer song that works perfectly.

Improvements: As you continue developing this, focus on making the story clearer and tightening the runtime. Establishing the plot earlier will help with both. Also, think about adding more locations and plot points to open up the world. Consider showing more of what's happening on screen with the online friend — what are they doing or saying? That additional context could really help the story feel more complete and engaging.

Positives: Terrific opening in terms of sound/score and tone. Solid camera work.

Improvements: Even in dark scenes, we need to see faces. Some of the dialogue is obscured by the sound/score. The dialogue liveles are all over the place. Make sure your dialnor, is -27 LKFS. Too many blackouts.
