  • 2/24 10:25 am - Really strong camera work and transitions throughout. Love the close-ups on the players' hands (like at 1:50ish), as these add just a little more flavor and character to the production. Face close-ups are also a strong idea to give this performance a little something extra. Some shots linger for a little longer than I'd like, but for a parent or somebody watching from home, it'd be like they're there watching the event in the first place.
Judge 1

Positives: Thank you for allowing me to view and judge your video. Stage productions are one of the hardest things to video record because you don't control anything - including the lighting, colors, or audio. I think you did very good work. I love the shadow in the first clip. I would have worked that. Great audio! Love the close up of the director. And closeups of the players!!! just perfect. Love the closeup of the hands on the strings - that clip could have been a little shorter.

Improvements: I would have shown the crowd in a clip. shorter clips.

Positives: -great close up shots of the director -nice job getting medium shots of the soloist and following up with closer shots of fingers on strings to be creative

Improvements: -the first shot is very important. Try to make sure you open with your best shot where you can see everyone clearly -try to be mindful of head room to make sure your subjects are the main focus and dead space does not take away from what you want viewers to see

Positives: The tight shots of the instrument were great Tight shots of the musicians playing were great

Improvements: Less on the conductor more on the band The shots were where the needed to be, but the static locked off style made it feel boring.

Judge 4

Positives: Good job on cameras getting close-up shots of the bass and performers. Great sound and audio mix. Overall great job.

Improvements: Consider using more close-ups on the musicians. I would have like to have seen more camera cuts to keep with the flow of the music. Some shots were held too long.
