A 7 camera shoot of an act from Glenbrook North's Variety Show, Elevate. Production involved a week of rehearsals and run-throughs.
Positives: -great job panning with purpose -nice job anticipating the action and showing wide shots when they matter
Improvements: -try to mix in tight shots of feet or faces to enhance creativity
Positives: Lighting was perfect for this performance. Director did a fine job with cutting to shots that were sequenced to show different angles on stage and difference performers.
Improvements: A few camera shots were not quite as good as they could have been.
Positives: - Good work in using a couple of the cameras to pan and move dynamically across the lines of performers. Would have liked to even see a bit more of that throughout the performance. - Audio was clean and well-mixed throughout.
Improvements: - In a performance like this where there wasn't a ton of quick movement, it opens the camera operators up to be able to get some tighter shots to isolate on performers' faces and really show us their motion. You need to be careful to not do TOO many tight shots, but a few of them would have helped to mix things up a bit.
