  • 3/3 11:30 am - Nice voice quality and a good explanation at the start of the package. The b-roll is mich matching and I love the interview with the players. That brings heart to the piece. It is better to lead with them and not a teacher. The SOTs were probably a bit too long and I think the story could have more parts to it. A package needs to be more than just one beat, but have a couple of elements to it.

Positives: - I liked how you wrote this story --- concise, informative, direct. I thought you used good soundbites, and it was really interesting to hear from some of the athletes about what this means to them. - Moments make stories. I liked seeing the connection between students that you captured on camera.

Improvements: - Your b-roll for this story seems more random than thought out. Next time, think about how to make this more engaging. You need wide, medium and tight shots to help pace your story. It had a lot of jump cuts and just felt like you had medium shots the whole time. - This story needs natural sound. You're in a gym with basketball being played. Bring that sound full from time to time on some of those tight shots. It helps the viewer feel as if they're there with you, which will keep their attention.

Positives: I like that you interviewed multiple students and let them tell the story I like that you told a full story in under a minute. The story doesn't have to be long to tell everything

Improvements: Some of your broll and interviews looked a little blurry and soft. It sounded like you had some good nats in the gym. Would be great to add some of those as nat pops

Judge 3

Positives: -Good use of video, nice to see a variety of shot angles. --It was good to see the reporter's narration match the video. Especially when talking about the interview subjects.

Improvements: -The first track was a little long. I highly suggest making it shorter and mixing with bites to make the package more appealing at the top. -I would've loved to see a standup from the reporter. It establishes who the reporter is and who's telling the story.
