The HPHS Jazz Ensemble performs "As Light Through Leaves" during the Charity Drive Assembly to kick off fundraising for the Harold E. Eisenburg Foundation.
Positives: Thank you for allowing me to view and judge your video. Stage productions are one of the hardest things to video record because you don't control anything - including the lighting, colors, or audio. I think you did very good work. I like the pan clip of the band. Great exposures in difficult lighting.
Improvements: Opeinng title frame was too long. Maybe 2 seconds. The audio really changed a lot. A little too load toward the end.
Positives: -nice job following the action in the band with different shots -great medium shots showing them play instruments
Improvements: - try to make sure if we're hearing a voice, we see them immediately, the title slide was up for about 10 seconds before we saw the presenter -an establishing shot to set the scene is always a nice touch at the beginning
Positives: Very Good coverage, nothing was missed. great use of movement in the pans of the camera shots great transition from speaker to entertainment
Improvements: Felt a little too repetitive with the shot choices I feel like an option of using the the Powerpoint as an input instead of using a camera to shoot the slides. could have used More tight shots, you started to use them and could have used more of them
Positives: Band was well lit and had even lighting. Camera had some good attempts to get close ups of individual performers. Good audio levels of the speaker and jazz band.
Improvements: Nice job of capturing the event with only 2 cameras. If possible a third camera from a side angle would help with the flow. With this type of musical piece, you might consider using dissolves in between the camera shots rather than cuts. That way it's not so abrupt. I would have liked to see more close ups of the individual musicians.
