  • 4/23 1:14 pm - Great trivia segment. The beginning of the video has some great footage showing different events from the charity drive. The first trivia question's answer included b-roll footage and I had hoped there would be some visuals throughout all of the answers to the questions! The question graphics are a nice touch. The participants were consistently framed well. Overall, good job.
  • 4/18 1:23 pm - STORY: You did a great job explaining a lot of the activities related to Charity Drive. You asked questions that I thought students seemed excited to answer. You give your audience a lot of essential information related to what you were saying. SOUND: You made a great choice with your audio track. It definitely gives off an upbeat and exciting feel for this event. You do a great job mixing in your audio, there are just a few moments where the volume of your audio track goes up and down way too fast. Specifically when we see the title cards for each question appear and some transitions into b-roll. The volume of the audio track is not brought up at 0:34. At 0:48 the audio track goes up in volume way too fast. When you bring up audio, you want it to be gradual and not too abrupt. At 0:53 the music track goes down in volume way too fast here again. At 1:08 the audio track doesn’t go up. You want to stay consistent in the edits that you make. Great switch to the intense audio track during the showdown towards the end of the video. CAMERA: Most of your interview shots are framed well. The one that I would change would be at 0:25. This one looks like the camera wasn’t all the way at eye level. There is also too much ceiling in the shot. Another shot that should be done differently is the showdown shot at 1:55. I appreciate you zooming in on everyone in post. However, there is just way too much ceiling in this shot again. I would start on a CU shot of the host and pan from left to right IN CAMERA using either a CU or MS of both teams. If you are able to, set up another camera with a wide shot as a backup. Another thing to pay attention to in your shots is the background. The background of your shots at 0:06 and 0:30 are not too great. You’ve got a vending machine with people going up to it in the background which is distracting and then a lot of other shapes, lines, and podiums in the other that create distracting lines which go through your subjects heads. Specifically the shot at 0:30, have your subject move a couple of feet away from a wall when filming. This will create more depth in your shot and potentially make it more interesting. LIGHTING: Overall, you used light pretty adequately. One thing to watch out for are lights in the setting that you are filming at. The right side of your frame at 0:25 is a lot darker than the left side of the frame. If you don’t have access to lights you can use the existing light at your location. Pay attention to where your lights are located and shift where your subject and camera are if needed. EDITING: Your pacing is great overall! I like how you decided to include the title cards for each question as well as the title card at the beginning and end of the video. Great job editing in the movement during the showdown portion of the video. One thing you could have done differently is edit your opening sequence with b-roll to the beat of the music (0:06 to 0:18). It still works, however the clip from 0:10 to 0:11 is on the screen for a very short time. It seems like you maybe tried to edit this to the beat, but some of the clips are slightly off beat.
