  • 4/28 8:54 pm - + Good b-roll, nice interview set ups, glad that you got numerous interviews with people very close to the topic, heartbreaking and inspiring story -Usually best when lower third is on the opposite side of the person
  • 4/5 9:11 pm - KEEPERS: Great story about Hallie and the forming of her non profit foundation. As someone who sits on the board of a non profit, I fully understand the undertaking this entails and the passions each of the board members feel as they run it. It was a beautifully told story and you edited the interviews very well. Great interview set ups and I liked the visual differences between each. The broll was nuanced and well placed. Great work with the music as well. IMPROVEMENTS: Your documentary needed nat audio. I wanted to hear Hallie's voice in this somewhere. I saw so many videos in here. Why not include the sound? Those sounds of people laughing, clapping, weeping...those sounds add additional story heft and it is refreshing for viewers to see and hear those - it provides a break from the talking heads that dominate the story telling. Get more broll of the board at work or from the fundraisers they put on. Perhaps this was difficult to acquire, but it would have helped so much. Could you have interviewed someone that direclty benefitted from Hallie225's assistance? I think those voices are important to hear as well. This is a great documentary to advertise the work of the foundation. To make it really shine, testimonial moments are needed. Overall, great job! Keep telling stories!

Positives: heart breaking story. but a positive in creating a video that over comes lose so resiliently. Great production value, really sells a point to contribute to the fund, which effectively makes me want to. Useful skills in an employable world of advertising, no doubt.

Improvements: I wouldn't sugar coat her journey. There has got to be a creative arch in how you over come hardship, and showing her posthumous arch really would have been very moving to see for people who are outside the clique. same with music choices, don't sugar coat the music choices, make us feel the grief. otherwise, there is no pathos, and you don't want this to be an infomercial. You want it to be a critical documentary.

Positives: The edit was very well done. Looked professional. The B-roll fit the story well. The story was inspiring. The information about Hallie and how she inspired the foundation was great.

Improvements: The information about the foundation was lacking. I wanted to know what they actually do. They write checks to help people was not enough information. The lighting and white balance on the Mom were off. Her skin color was pale.
