Barrington High School recreates Thriller through a young modern lens.
Positives: 1) Movie Theater Scene: This scene is recognized for its strength, contributing significantly to the video's impact. The suggestion to zoom in slightly to avoid showing empty seats is minor but could help maintain immersion in the story being told. The scene’s framing and execution, aside from this small adjustment, work really well. 2) Use of Lens Flares at 3:08: The shot featuring lens flares is highlighted as particularly effective, adding a visually pleasing element that could have been utilized more frequently, especially as a cutaway from the choreography. This technique adds a layer of visual interest.
Improvements: 1) Editing During Choreography: The choreography sections could benefit from tighter editing. Incorporating more close-ups of the ghouls' faces and employing quick cuts could enhance the intensity and emotional engagement of these scenes. More coverage of the scene would add depth and dynamism to the choreography, making it more captivating. 1) Audio Editing: There's noticeable looping in the audio to extend it as the next scene begins. Smoother transitions in the soundtrack and more natural audio progression could greatly enhance the video.
Positives: What an epic production. Loved the choreography, production design, lighting and camera work. Kudos for accomplishing something so ambitious.
Improvements: The one ding I would give this mv is the lip-sych. With lip-synch in music videos, do or do not. There is no try. It's so important that when it's done half-heartedly and then not attempted in parts of the video, it really detracts from what is otherwise an extremely well done homage.
Positives: I appreciate the ambition. The use of locations is terrific.
Improvements: The performances need to be more committed. What is the tone of this video? It seems confused to me.
