  • 4/30 7:45 pm - Excellent cinematography in the “card space.” I’m guessing you didn’t have too much room on the set so the use of shorter focal lengths and close-ups is a nice way of making the space as visually interesting as possible. You also strike a really nice balance between the cooler back light and the warmer motivated light that is supposed to come from the candles. Music is great and the edit is paced nicely with it. I don’t mind the violence with the weapon, and I guess we don’t technically see it, but it is close. Just something to keep in mind with the MMEA rules. Nice job all around. I really enjoyed this. Keep making movies!
  • 4/30 12:42 pm - Great introduction to a dramatic film. I can tell that the cuts are being made to the soundtrack. It is super satisfying when the music builds and the plot gets more intense. The transition from the girl being outside to being at the table with the gesture was unclear. How did she get there? The title of the film is super fitting. The stylistic decisions being made here(the font, colors, props) are all super effective towards the world building of the film.
  • 4/29 11:15 am - Strengths: Powerful, controlled opening shot- drew my focus and piqued my curiosity right away. Subtle, yet impactful performances by the actors. The parallel action between the main character/"controller" were very effective. Music helped to build the story. You did an excellent job crafting characters without any words; I felt like I "knew" them and cared about them- not easy to do! Improvements: Some camera instability around 2:02. Some panning shots could have been a bit smoother (framing and camerawork were excellent throughout so the tiny things stood out).
