An excerpt from a multi camera shoot of a concert by Glenbrook Symphony Orchestra.
Positives: -I like the variety of shot angles. It makes it interesting to watch. -the sound was clear, concise and easy to hear.
Improvements: -an establishing shot of the entire orchestra would have been a nice touch to start off with. -try to switch up the shots from wide, medium to tight so the medium shots back to back are not jarring.
Positives: Lighting, camera and sound were wonderful. Great job. Enjoyed the piece very much. Congrats
Improvements: A few more close-ups shots would have added to the piece.
Positives: - Well done to take shots of specific instrument groups at appropriate times in the music (i.e. the brass section while they were playing). We saw very few moments of someone who was not actively playing their instrument throughout. - Audio was clean, balanced and well mixed.
Improvements: - Add some intentional motion into the camera shots. Music is so expressive and moving, so it works well to accompany it with camera shots that are panning across the orchestra or slowly zooming in from wide to tight. All static shots lose some of the emotion of the piece. - Similarly, mix up the composition of your shots. We did see one somewhat wide shot towards the end, but other than that every shot was framed at medium width. Mix this up with a tight ISO on one musician, then a medium shot, then a wide shot, etc.
