  • 4/23 10:23 pm - Some great effects at the start. Very cool editing in combination with the effects. But it does feel like two different videos as the music changes and the look changes. You ultimately bring it back around at the end with the type effects but it still feels disconnected. Some really nice shots throughout.
  • 3/4 12:37 pm - POSITIVES: Special Effects and Filters are very dynamic, although the first half and the last half feel like 2 separate stories, each with their own song. AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT: Incorporate some of the effects of the first half into the second half. Story needs a closing, instead of just stopping after some text effects.

Judge 1

Positives: I liked that you used posed shots of the players and shots of them in action. The shots are edited to the music well.

Improvements: The VFX at the beginning was nice, but I would have liked to see just a little bit less of them. They distracted the players just a bit. While this was visually really great to look at, I would have liked more of a narrative about the football team.

Judge 2

Positives: You've got some dynamic and effects to introduce your. And there's some exciting game footage.

Improvements: More than half the video seemed like an introductio followed by some nice action clips for 21 seconds and then it all comes to a screeching halt. What's the arc of your story? Highlight footage is fine, but narration and/or video shot specifically for this project would help bring the story together. It's hard to develop a cohesive story with just disjointed contest clips and upbeat music.

Judge 3

Positives: The student captured an impressive range of footage both on and off the field. The stylized look gives it a professional quality reminiscent of ESPN coverage. The editing work is particularly noteworthy.

Improvements: While the piece stands well on its own, it could have been enhanced by incorporating more ambient sound effects and developing deeper storylines about the featured athletes.
