A girl dies on prom night but returns as a ghost and haunts her disloyal friends.
Positives: -Emotional depth: Captures loss poignantly. -Unique plot: The dead protagonist’s perspective is intriguing.
Improvements: -Plot clarity: Make the supernatural twist clearer. -Relationship depth: Briefly show the protagonist’s connections pre-accident.
Positives: - The "slow-shutter" aesthetic and vivid lighting during the prom scenes works well. - The edit works well, cutting to the "rhythm" of the piece.
Improvements: - This may be a note more for short film itself, rather than the trailer, but some of the performances could use some adjustment to better reflect the fear of being haunted and pursued by a ghost. - Some visual representation of the ghost would be good to see, rather than exclusively first person POV shots.
Positives: Story premise was intrigueing with an unexpected twist. The voice lead me to believe the story was going to be a teen drama, when it in fact was something more or entirely different. Again, I'm intrigued. (I'd like to see this developed into a feature) Opening prom sequence was well photographed. Handheld works. I appreciate that the photographed medium shots instead of locking on wide shots. (A few close ups of reactions in the last 2 shots would have been nice!)
Improvements: I can see a fully polished, Hollywood version of this, or even an indie version would be fun. The newscast could be reshot with an older actor, to lend credibility and weight to the situation. The stalking shots near the end could have more dramatic, darker lighting, again to intensify the situation.
