4/23 2:14 pm - Engaging and dynamic story that was both deep and fun. I'll admit, I didn't see that twist coming and yet it totally worked! The dialogue was tight and matched by excellent performances. There were occasional issues with the autofocus that took away from an otherwise very clean piece. Also, the audio could have used better J and L cuts at times – but I appreciated the effort that went into the sound design (especially the cars, texting, footsteps, and clothing sounds) – at it's best, it brought a lot to the story. I appreciate that you used ADR to solve some of the audio issues, but J & L cuts and background natural sound would have helped make it seem less out of place. Good use of music to set the mood. Ultimately, I think J & L cut issues and focus issues were the biggest things working against this. VERY Cool ghost effect – I'm not sure how you did it, worked very well. Overall, excellent work – keep it up!
3/15 11:54 am - Your actors did a nice job. Is the first scene of the girl packing a bag necessary? I don't think that adds much to the narrative. You could start with the two of them arriving and setting up the tents. I think this story would be more believable if you were able to frame out the parking lot, the path, and the big open field, just to make it feel like they are completely isolated and alone. I like the idea of having the speaker reading out a text message spark their argument! I am a little bit confused by what causes these two to start having hallucinations though. A lot of your shots are out of focus. Make sure to check your focus before filming. Sticking to AutoFocus might help with that. Your color grading is really nice - I love the deep contrast and rich colors! I like the shaky handheld camera movement when the characters are starting to have visions.
3/3 10:39 am - The plot twist at the end is funny, but the story is all over the place. You are packing too much into one film. Keep it simple.
Your screen direction is inconsistent, and it's a little confusing. Also, you are missing room tone, which is why your sound design has "holes" in it.
