  • 4/24 1:26 pm - Some elements that stood out to me were the addition of the text to the scenes where your actors moved around it/in front of it. It's simple but stands out. Also, the shot with the shoes in the locker was visually intriguing and stays with you. Some of the audio was hard to understand and the music took over in some places, which then made it kind of difficult to keep with what the story is. The underwater shots were cool, but also didn't feel necessary for the trailer because the doppleganger wasn't in them or doing anything to the person who was in there, or at least it didn't seem that way. All in all, this definitely gave a good trailer format and worked well.
  • 4/24 11:43 am - Great work on this trailer! The acting was strong and believable, and the location choices really added to the atmosphere. The format felt very much like a proper trailer, with a clear structure and pacing that kept things moving. The camera work was well done overall, and the underwater shots were especially engaging, they looked great and added a unique visual element that stood out. Audio and music were mostly clear, but a little touch-up in the mix could help smooth out a few spots and make everything feel even more polished. Overall, this was a solid and creative piece, well done!

Positives: Great job! Your visual elements work really well – all of the different locations and environments you use, on top of aesthetic decisions like your "hand drawn" look for titles/text, red lighting design, and editorial cadence show great confidence and skill.

Improvements: At times, a few lines of dialogue are muffled to the point where you cannot understand what a character is saying, so that could be improved or re-recorded. The narrative also feels slightly "vague" and could be expanded upon, just a bit (without disturbing the "teaser-esque" tone). Excellent job on your entry this year – there was clearly a lot of skill and talent put into this piece.

Positives: The shots of the locker and red light. Creative shots an editing.

Improvements: The intertitles are a big pet peave of mine. Tell the story visually without text. The final shot is confusing. Does the trailer even need it?

Judge 3

Positives: Excellent use of text effects and titles—seriously, they looked super professional and added a polished touch throughout. The shots you used to show setting and background were really solid, and the voiceover plus background audio helped tie everything together nicely.

Improvements: The acting could use a bit more polish, and the camera work during the dialogue scenes didn’t quite match the quality of the rest of the trailer. Same with the lighting—those scenes felt a little off compared to the rest of the video. Just focusing on consistency there would really help the whole piece feel more cohesive.
