  • 4/15 12:01 pm - Ambitious and at it's best, cinematic. Great use of voice over. The color grade is effective in heightening the sense of drama. Excellent transition at 1:09. The superhero racing sequences are dynamic and well executed. The left and right audio channels are not always properly separated and/or mixed. The dialogue audio levels are somewhat inconsistent (most noticeable at 4:23). Strongly recommend paying more attention to J and L cuts and clothing rustle. You clearly have a strong sense of sound design, be sure to clean up those little issues. Very strong performances (and therefore direction as well). Overall, a compelling short film. I look forward to seeing more of your work!
  • 3/13 2:38 pm - This story has a clear message and tugs at our heartstrings during several strong moments. That being said, there was a little too much plot to cram into 5 minutes. It was very fast paced, and I think this could be a much stronger piece if it had some more room to breathe. Is there anything that could have been removed from this cut to still make it make sense? Nice lighting in OTS and close up shots around the 2:42 timestamp. You positioned your actors and your lights in just the right way to get beautiful, cinematic shadows on the sides of their faces closest to the camera. Color - Sometimes when camera footage has just a slight warm or cool tint, it can come across as a mistake. It seems like the blue-ish color in this piece is probably intentional, but I would love to see you lean even more into the color grading and experiment with contrast, shadows/highlights, hue/tint/saturation, etc. I think you could go even more dramatic with it. Not essential, just something that might elevate the quality of this project!
  • 2/27 8:30 am - I love how the film starts: black screen with sound - very catchy, but when I get to the end of the film, I do not see the connection between the past and present. There is a lot of story for a short film. I love how you executed the VFX. I wished you racked focus in the dialogue.
