  • 4/26 11:53 am - Voice-overs are well done. Music selection works well with the images you recorded. Good variety of different camera angles throughout the video. Good use of fast motion. The narrator clearly explained the process. Very well done. Keep producing more videos.
  • 2/23 1:09 pm - Voice over levels were a bit quiet and muffled. Some of the sound effects were too loud. Camera and footage were clear and clean, both the camera clips and the screen captures were nice. You visually demonstrated the process well.

Positives: Seems like a lot of work for something that could have easily been done with stills. Using Mr. Potato Head out for a stroll was a good way to illustrate the process. You did a good job combining the camera footage with the screen capture footage.

Improvements: This is a little straight forward and dry. You could have had a little fun with it by carrying over the OTS like shot you used behind the camera to the crew member making the moves and maybe even a POV from Mr. P. as the crew member reaches in.

Positives: The steps are explained clearly and include good tips. Adding notes, like how if the camera moves, the viewer won't get the illusion they're going for, and the choice of visuals complement what the narrator is saying - such as 1:22 with showing the keys then what they do in the editing program. The pacing is well done, the use of editing and speed ramps keep the viewer engaged while still explaining things clearly.

Improvements: While difficult with the time restriction for the project, it would have been a nice touch to add something more to wrap up the video and tie everything together. Instead of saying "Go to the beginning of the sequence and play the video", saying something that sounds less like a step and more like a review of the final product. The use of graphics add to what is being shown and help direct the viewer, but the bell sound effect (like at 2:23) is a little distracting.

Positives: It was okay. If this was a commercial for the software, I'd give it a C+.

Improvements: Obviously, you need to be proficient in the use of specific software. The content of the video was so focused on the technology, an average person would not be able to understand.
