Positives: Love the editing how the shots are timed very well with the music transitions and beats. Great camera movement on the walking guy! In my opinion it's always better to walk with a moving actor instead of just filming on a tripod, great shot! Also enjoyed the spinning fragrance bottle shots, that turned out really nice. Spinning bottle is probably a hassle while trying to film... but just a little spin adds so much to the commercial and makes it feel so much more dynamic.
Improvements: Story - I think you kept it vague on purpose, which I did enjoy. As you know, a lot of fragrance commercials are very vague and don't really have a lot of concrete things like faces or dialogue. However, I still wanted to know WHY this guy? And WHY will this fragrance make my life better? To show the audience WHY, you just need a little more. Maybe we just show one beautiful young lady looking at him for a second towards the end. Just that one small added moment can convey so much... "This fragrance will make you irresistible and everyone will want to date you!"
Positives: The sound was interesting and helped with the pace of the commercial. The shots were also interesting and created a nice feature/showcase of the product.
Improvements: I don't think the brand message came together and the story was a bit loose. A poetic voice over May have contributed to the style and tone you were going for. The edit felt a little rough, I did not fully understand why we were moving between the a and b sequence.
Positives: Nice work! 1) Overall storytelling is nice! Most frangance commercials I see are very 'vibey' like this without need for a linear story - I like it. 2) Editing is nice! Builds emotion well.
Improvements: 1) Shooting! Would have like to see more variety in shots. 2) Lighting! Specifically on the product shot - character stuff was working for me.
