- 4/14 11:23 am - STORY: Your narrative showed mastery of plot and character development. The storyline was compelling and kept me engaged throughout your video.
SOUND: Your sound was mixed well! I would suggest adding in additional audio audio layers to help create a more immersive story. For example, it could be a great addition to include soft SFX of rain or thunder at 2:08 and 2:22 or even sounds of a bird at 0:27 when it first appears.
CAMERA: Your camera work was excellent. You included a wide range of camera shots, compositions and angles. Your opening drone shot really brings in and captivates your audience! Great work!
LIGHTING: I think you did a great job using lighting in your video overall. I really liked how we saw certain images projected over the main character, like at 1:15 or 2:22. It’s a clever way to bring in different lighting while conveying a specific mood or shift in a mood/tone.
EDITING: Your editing was great! You had great pacing and your video was sequenced well. I like your inclusion of animation. I think that really helped with the flow of your video!
- 2/18 9:30 am - The opening shot with the overhead rock formation is a fantastic and creative way to immediately grab the audience’s attention. It sets the tone for the video and establishes a visually compelling starting point that draws viewers into the story. Unique and intentional opening shots like this can make a lasting impression and create anticipation for what’s to come.
The use of animation and visuals throughout the video is particularly strong, enhancing the storytelling in a way that feels fresh and imaginative. The combination of live-action elements with animation adds depth and originality, making the narrative more engaging and dynamic. These creative choices help to build a distinctive visual identity, ensuring that the video stands out.
Overall, this is a captivating music video that tells a story in a new and interesting way. The balance between visual storytelling, artistic creativity, and technical execution is well done. Moving forward, consider experimenting with additional cinematic techniques—such as varied lighting, depth of field, or unique camera movements—to further enhance the visual impact. Great job on creating such an engaging and thoughtfully crafted piece!

Positives: The editing is solid. The video moves well. The intercutting of live action and VFX/Ani works well.
Improvements: The drone shot needs to be a bit longer. The color grade can be more compelling. The performance can be more compelling and charismatic.

Positives: Excellent variety of shots, and structuring of an A-roll performance with a B-roll story. The animation and graphic design was especially well done. I'm often a fan of drone/overhead shots like the one that opened the video; they help to elevate the production value of the whole piece. Finally, the performance of the recording artist was super strong and seemed heartfelt.
Improvements: I would have liked a different edit of the video. It felt like you opened with your strongest shots, and then the video kind of petered out in terms of not coming to any kind of culmination or climax. While I understand the knocking on the door and not having a particular reveal was probably on purpose, it served to exacerbate the lack of a build or progression to the whole piece. Finally, you should almost always shoot 24P or 30P (progressive) for your framerate. It looks like it was shot in 30i (interlaced), which looks like old home video or sports footage, not the film look you traditionally see in music videos.

Positives: The into drone shot immediately grabs my attention. I love the way that was composed to fit the screen.
The animation really adds to the story and gives the video it's own original feel.
I also like the projector shot.
Improvements: I think the drone shot shouldn't jump cut around throughout. The less a shot is seen the more significant it feels in the video. The more it's seen the less it's valued.
I would have liked to see something more with the title that matched the style of the animation. Maybe a "drawn on" look of some sort.
