Live event broadcast of the 2024 IHSA 8a football quarterfinals between York Community High School and Warren Township High School.
Positives: Great job directing the flow of gameplay from wide shot to tight cam of the "hero" player returning back to his team, then even some crowd reactions. The replay timing to see the touchdown was great. The natural sounds of the stadium helped amplify the excitement to the play and gives the viewer a better experience.
Improvements: When the talent was getting excited, there was some audio distortion. The center wide shot cam was slightly unbalanced as the horizon would shift as the camera panned.
Positives: - The ISO camera did a fantastic job both with tight framing and also keeping the play in frame so that it could provide great hero shots and replays. Good work!
Improvements: - When a run is going to the far side of the field, game camera should zoom in slightly to help viewers be able to see what is happening - For the analyst, work on staying more measured with your tone. It's an exciting moment, but it's also the 1st quarter. If you dial things up to 11 this early, there's nowhere left for you to go as the game goes along if it stays close and competitive.
Positives: Announcers worked well together and created excitement. Director used game camera really well. Pushed in during the most of the plays. Crowd shot was good, probably could have been a tad earlier. Close up camera was great. Didn’t get fooled with the touchdown run.
Improvements: The camera was so wide at :47, you almost could not see the play develop. Push in when the play develops. Director almost missed the PAT. The play started sooner than expected.
