  • 4/28 9:09 pm - + Nice interview location and set up. Relates to the topic. In need of more b-roll -This seems more like a news story than a documentary. The title even says news story. It would be helpful to have more interviews than just the main interviewee.
  • 4/12 8:33 pm - KEEPERS: Great job with the interview of the author. The sound, framing and producing was all well done and you cut up her responses to create a good throughline for the story. The broll did well showing a bit of her process as well. IMPROVEMENTS: This is such an interesting topic that I think could have been explored way more. What was her process for writing her published book? How long did it take, how did she get it published, etc.? That process would. be fascinating to learn about. I also think you needed another voice in this piece. A parent, an English teacher, a friend, some other voice to help tell her story. Film more broll. I would have loved to have seen photos of her younger self or examples of her earlier stories that she still has on hand. Let me see the first book that she held onto when she received it. Music is also a must. You need some additional emotive power and music provides that. Overall, I felt like this was a story caught in between a long form news piece and a documentary.
