  • 4/24 2:12 pm - For a continuous, multi-camera promotional segment this is well done! The talent stayed in character and the cutting between cameras was spot on. The lighting and audio levels seem consistent. The framing for the introduction of the two on-air talents seems a little off at the beginning, but after that it works well! The intro video was showing the years of the Rock-a-thon was a nice touch.Good job!
  • 4/23 11:00 am - STORY: Your two subjects definitely provide a lot of the details for the event. Great job creating these two characters! I do think that the video could use some more substance to make it more interesting, however, I do realize that you mimicked a specific style. SOUND: Great job mixing your audio throughout the video. Your music bed does not distract from the dialogue! CAMERA: The framing of your shot at 0:18 feels odd and unbalanced. Even though your subject is centerframed, their eyes are in the middle of the screen. Thinking about the rule of thirds, you would probably want to place the subject’s eyes on the top half of the frame. The wall in the background is also slanted which makes the shot feel uneven. Make sure you pay attention to your background when filming. Another tip when filming in front of a wall, don’t have your subject stand right up against the wall. Have them step away from the wall (a couple steps) so that you can create some depth in your shot! Otherwise filming up against a wall can make your shot feel and look like a mug shot! Make sure to also have your camera at eye level. Right now it seems as though your camera is tilted slightly up at your subject. LIGHTING: You do a great job lighting your two subjects. I think a great addition would be to potentially add some lighting on the wall behind you to create separation between the subjects and the wall. EDITING: I really enjoyed the opening of your video! It does establish that this is a long running event! I also enjoyed the incorporation of the running ticker on the screen. I feel that the video could use some more substance in terms of adding different edits in. For a two minute piece, I did get uninterested about halfway through since we looked at the same two subjects and shot for the whole video. I think it would be interesting to add in different sfx or clips that relate to what the subjects are talking about. That would really catch your audience’s attention!
