Baking with Mrs. Honan! Mrs. Honan returns to the RBTV kitchen to show us how to make a classic pumpkin pie, inspired by a recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction. She walks us through each step with her signature warmth and humor—perfect for viewers ready to bake along at home. Positives: She s a real pro in from of the camera! Nice variety of shots to give us a good look at the process. Loved the shot of her framed in between the table legs.
Improvements: This feels like it is too big of a story for just three minutes so we're starting in the middle. The viewer has no idea how to prepare the pumpkin part of pumpkin pie. Your chef could have done a quick mention of what the ingredients are and what quantities are needed.
Positives: The music and graphics complement the tone of the video and the loose Thanksgiving theme. The lighting in the video is pleasant and makes it easy to see what is going on without creating any distracting shadows. It matches what one would expect to find in a kitchen and elevates it to direct the viewer's eye to the instructor and action.
Improvements: The fan noise in the background can distract from what Ms. Honan is saying. While sometimes unavoidable, especially in what appears to be an industrial kitchen, using a different mic or mic placement, or doing a pass in post can help. There are a good variety of camera angles used, though the overhead (0:38) doesn't quite match the other shots used. A little bit of tweaking in color correction would help get it closer and maintain continuity
Positives: Nice kitchen background. Good camera close-ups. But ............
Improvements: Holy Smokes! WAY too many camera shot changes WAY too fast. I was on a roller coaster throughout the video. Maybe a quick overview of the ingredients and quantities required.
