  • 4/24 8:31 am - The intro, editing, and music combo all came together to make this cohesive and fun. You have a nice variety of shots, and it cuts to what you want and need the audience to see at the right time. Maybe give a brief explanation of what key frames are and how they work. If someone is not into video production they may not know what they are and what they do.
  • 4/1 1:00 pm - That video was a little hard to follow, but that’s just because I’ve never used Davinci Resolve before - so maybe add that disclaimer to the beginning. Otherwise, I like how you zoomed in on the software interface for the program to show the viewer where on the screen to find the items you were referring to in each step. I appreciated how you showed what each step looked like as you created it. And adding the sparks - will have to check out that website. Nice job!

Positives: The demonstration uses clips of projects and screen recordings to clearly show what the voiceover is explaining. The sound is well mixed and the voiceover explains what is being done on screen.

Improvements: The pace for this demonstration is a little fast at the beginning, the steps at first seem like a complex topic for a short video. After the introductions, the project does not need to keep cutting back to the talking head, it is dark and it looks like the subject is reading something off-camera. This takes away from what is being explained as the viewer wonders why the subject is in a dimly lit room with a busy background.

Positives: Good job with the sound at the start of the video. I think that it helps to get the viewer excited about the video. The lighting on you is strong and well-balanced. Good job zooming in on the areas of the computer where we need to click while doing this. It makes it easier to follow this video. Good job with the two-and-one screenshot. I like this addition to the video. It is not overwhelming.

Improvements: When using a script either B-roll more often so we can't see that you are reading or use a prompter. Also, do not say "um" during your video. It distracts from your message. Your audio seems to change at :52 seconds, but it is not too bad.
