4/25 10:43 pm - You had a strong message with this video. Well done with the storytelling here. You had great camera shots and angles, and the variety kept me engaged. Your audio was lacking a bit though and drew me out with the inconsistencies. Keep working hard!
4/25 9:01 am - The story was moving and dynamic, fueled by strong performances. The sound struggled with background noise/fuzz and could have benefited from more attention to J and L cuts. The camera angles and movement were overall well executed, but there were some issues with camera shake, head room, and balanced composition. The lighting never had anything too dark or too over exposed - so nice work there - still it mainly looked like you used room lighting, so I would recommend getting a little more creative with the lighting to bring this to the next level. The editing worked well in regards to communicating the story, but some of the shots held a bit too long and perhaps some of the plot points could have benefited from a quick montage sequence instead of long take. Overall, nice work! Keep it up!
2/23 12:53 pm - The opening tracking is commendable! The montage of the kid picking up other people's homework/tests and moving father and father away is also very thoughtful!
You really thought about your shots and how to arrange the actors in front of the camera.
Your biggest problem is sound recording. Spend a little time rehearsing while listening to the recording and your films will improve greatly!
