This is a music video for the song "Golden Hours" by Brian Eno.
Positives: Impressive Intro: The introduction of the video sets a high standard right from the start. It's engaging, creatively put together, and does a fantastic job of drawing the viewer in. A strong intro is crucial for capturing attention, and this video nails it, laying a solid foundation for what's to come. Creative Transitions at 1:07: The transitions between scenes around the 1:07 mark were exceptionally well-executed and creative. This technique not only catches the viewer's attention but also smoothly guides them from one part of the video to another, showcasing a thoughtful approach to video editing that adds a layer of sophistication.
Improvements: Performance Scenes: While the performance parts of the video are technically well-lit, they fall a bit short when it comes to conveying a clear message. It's important for every scene, especially performance scenes, to communicate something to the viewer, whether it's an emotion, a piece of the story, or a theme. Clarifying the purpose and message of these scenes could greatly improve their impact.
Positives: What a super-well-done video. I especially loved the Jesus performance possibly inspired by the "water into wine" line. I also loved the super 8 footage, it was so good it actually had me wondering if you shot and transferred super 8, which, if you did, would have been flexing (as you kids say?).
Improvements: I wish the story would have been a little clearer. It was so interesting and held my attention throughout. But Jesus and the girl felt like they belonged to two different videos.
Positives: I am impressed that someone chose Brian Eno. Good for you! The lead singer is fun to watch. There is some effective camera work. The flashbacks are effective.
Improvements: In terms of color grading the video needs to be more consistent. It needs to feel like a cohesive piece. That last shot should be of her who face. You deprive the audience of some of the emotional content.
