  • 4/8 8:46 am - Your video had a great intro that immediately captured my attention. The camera shots were excellent, and the use of text for ingredients was very helpful. The lighting was consistently good, and the text for each step was exceptionally well done, making the process easy to follow. The camera movements were nice and stable, contributing to a smooth viewing experience. Additionally, the audio was consistently clear, and the editing was fantastic, leading to a great ending. Great work!
  • 3/1 7:19 am - Great use of Close-Up camera shots and moving camera shots at the beginning of the video. Voice-overs are well done. Music selection works well with the images you recorded. Good use of text throughout the video. The pacing of your editing was well done. Great demonstration video. Keep producing more videos.
  • 2/28 9:23 pm - Food videos can be hard to shoot but you did a very nice job with this one. From the shot composition to the lighting to the angles, it all works so well together. That combined with your on-screen graphics, voiceover and editing made this a wonderful piece. Well done!

Positives: The intro to the video gives the viewer something to connect with by establishes the story behind the cookies and why the filmmaker is showing how to make them. It also creates a sense of credibility that the cookies will be delicious. The variety of shots and use of movement create a piece that is easy to follow and engaging.

Improvements: The video is upbeat, but could be slowed down just a tad. The video cut quickly and could hold shots for a beat longer to allow the viewer to read the text on screen. The visuals have layers, but the sound could further contribute to the world of the video. The sound of a time at 1:39 enhances the sense of time passing. Including a few more moments like this could further build the world of the story (perhaps the sound of setting the oven temperature or the sound of the mixer running).

Positives: Yummy! Great material to start with. You did a fine job varying your shots and using the gift of your voice to narrate. Starting with some shots of the finished product was a nice introduction. I liked the POT shot setting up the ingredients. Good text overlays and tight shots. Nice closing shot on the empty plate.

Improvements: Could have included a sample or two with your video submission.
