  • 4/29 12:49 pm - Clever story and excellent use of editing and old style footage to help tell the story!
  • 3/3 9:51 am - This was a creative and visually interesting music video with a fun stylistic approach. I really enjoyed the balance between the HD footage and the in-camera “old” or vintage-style clips. That contrast added texture and personality to the project, and it showed intentional artistic choices rather than just straightforward performance coverage. The concept feels imaginative and playful, which makes the video engaging to watch. However, the storyline was a bit unclear at times. While there are strong visual moments, the narrative thread could be more defined so the audience fully understands what is happening and why. Adding clearer transitions, establishing shots, or visual cues that signal changes in time or perspective would help strengthen the storytelling. Technically, some of the shots appeared overly bright or slightly washed out. Paying closer attention to exposure during filming or making adjustments in post-production would help preserve detail and create a more polished, consistent look. Bringing down highlights would elevate the overall quality. Overall, this was a creative and ambitious project with strong stylistic choices. Clarifying the story and refining exposure would make it even more cohesive and professional. Keep experimenting with visual contrasts because that’s a strong creative instinct to build on.

Positives: The jump cut when all of you guys are sitting in the office to show the passing of time was really cool. The shot when everyone is sitting in the red seats evenly spaced out looking at the camera was also really cool.

Improvements: I liked the VHS clips and the look. Seeing more of these would have been nice and I think it would have complimented the song choice. Not sure what was going on in terms of the story, but I wasn't able to grasp the concept of what you guys were trying to get across. Seemed like a lot of random shots and scenes with no coorelation to eachother.

Positives: I liked the mixed media approach. The juxtaposition of the old camcorder footage to modern high def worked well. I liked the cinematography as a whole. Shots were well composed and interesting to the eye. Shots took as long as they needed to and weren't rushed.

Improvements: The story was hard to follow. Did the girl in the snoopy sweatshirt do it?! Are the other kids next?! I know this comment is in the "could be improved" section but really it's a positive thing. I had to rewatch a few times to get it... there's a lot that's up to interpretation. But this is the most interesting video I've seen so far! The amount of running shots became a little excessive. The cinematography suffers during those shots.

Positives: Some really well composed, striking shots here e.g. 2.04 of girl alone on field, the zoom out of the group at 1.14, and the girl running on the football field at 50 sec. Strong camera work - very dynamic and good use of motion! Also was intrigued by the story... after a couple watches still not 100% certain of everything that the film is trying to depict but that's not a bad thing. Music videos are meant to be abstract to a certain extent! Lastly I have to send some love on the VHS footage mixed in with the new digital footage. For something like this with a bit of timeline play I think it really works. Nice work!

Improvements: I think the story could be made a bit more clear, but not so clear that it answers all the questions the audience may have - like just a small detail here or there that makes what's happening, like, 10% more obvious. Also, while I thought the camera work was solid for the most part, I think the film suffers from a handful of sort of flat angles e.g. the guy on the red chair at 1.21 and the closer shots of the girl around 23 sec.
