Improvements: 1) needed to see a Radon kit 2) can't show names on headstones, "privacy act"
Judge 2
Positives: Clever editing sequence with the numbers for the candles one after the other. The camera work was very good with the small pulls on the candles and the opening shot of the cemetery scene.
Improvements: Narrator pacing and tone did not convey gravitas for such a hard message - felt like they were just reading from a script. While hard to "show" Radon, the going from birthday celebration to cemetery left one wondering "what happened?"
Judge 3
Positives: 1) Production quality is great. 2) Adding the resources and call to action at the end with a voice over really nails the message.
Improvements: 1) It is unclear where radon gas comes from or how this is an issue. The death appears to be out of no where and the viewer is left confused as to how radon was involved. 2) Finding a more mature VO artist or using the child's voice would've been less jarring.
